AMCP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE).
Pharmacists can earn a maximum of 9.25 contact hours of CPE credit by attending one CPE session during each session block during AMCP Nexus 2020 (not including pre-meeting programs and satellite symposia held in conjunction with the meeting). To obtain credit, pharmacists must attend a session in its entirety, participate in session-specific learning assessments, obtain a session-specific attendance code, complete a session evaluation, and record their participation online at http://amcplearn.org no later than 5pm ET on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020. No exceptions can be made after this date.
Target Audience and Meeting Objectives
The CPE sessions at Nexus 2020 are designed to provide insights and solutions for pharmacists who practice in managed care settings, and to help them maintain and enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
By actively participating in the continuing education programming at Nexus 2020, managed care pharmacists should be able to:
- Identify the latest trends and innovations and the impact on managed care pharmacy.
- Discuss evidence-based approaches and best practices in managing high-impact disease states and drugs.
- Summarize the latest legislative and regulatory issues in the health care environment and their impact on managed care pharmacy.
- Outline key findings from cutting-edge managed care research.
- Characterize the rapidly changing specialty pharmaceutical landscape and identify efficient and effective ways to manage this growing market segment.
- Identify challenges and opportunities currently facing managed care pharmacy.
The CPE Monitor system became mandatory for all pharmacists, technicians, and CPE providers on Jan. 1, 2013. If you have not obtained your National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) e-profile ID, please visit https://nabp.pharmacy. If you have any questions about this system or your number, please contact NABP customer support at 847-391-4406, Monday–Friday between 9am and 5pm CT.
Information about the amount of CPE credit pharmacists earn at Nexus 2020 is transmitted electronically by AMCP to NABP. Pharmacists who log into CPE Monitor will be able to access information about CPE credit earned at Nexus 2020 approximately 72 hours after successful submission.
Some states have special requirements for program content to meet state requirements for continuing education. Please check with your state Board of Pharmacy to determine if such requirements exist and to determine if the CPE sessions at Nexus 2020 meet those requirements.
